The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new market opportunities, developing and executing strategies for acquiring new customers, and building strong, long‑term client relationships. This role requires a proactive, results‑driven individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Lead Generation and Sales Growth
- Identify and target new business opportunities within existing and new markets.
- Oversee daily sales operations, manage budgets, and set performance objectives.
- Plan, evaluate, and optimise sales targets to be efficient and cost‑effective.
- Prospect and generate leads through various channels (cold calling, networking, trade shows, social media).
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve growth targets.
- Ensure company standards and procedures are followed.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relations and negotiate contracts.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long‑term partnerships.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet those needs.
- Monitor client satisfaction and take necessary actions to resolve any issues.
Market Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential areas for growth.
- Provide insights into market conditions, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
Sales Presentations And Proposals
- Create and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential clients.
- Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
- Ensure products and services comply with regulatory and quality standards.
- Develop and implement business, marketing, and advertising plans.
Collaboration And Reporting
- Work closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams to align business development efforts with company goals.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, client feedback, and market insights to senior management.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, analyses, and reports of sales performance and revenue.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (any graduate).
- 2–8 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
