Pronto in Bengaluru is seeking a Business Development Associate to acquire and grow corporate clients for our suite of banking and insurance products. You will identify target companies, engage decision‑makers and convert opportunities into long‑term institutional partnerships.
You will lead generation, client acquisition, account management and cross‑selling, with strong communication in English and local language, field visits, and CRM-backed tracking.
Role Overview
The Business Development Associate will acquire and grow corporate clients for the company's products. The role covers finding prospective businesses, building relationships with decision‑makers (HR heads, finance controllers, founders, procurement teams), and converting them into long‑term institutional accounts. Products may include corporate salary accounts, current accounts, working capital and business loans, group health and term insurance, employee benefits plans, and commercial insurance (fire, marine, liability, property).
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation and Prospecting Identify and research target companies (SMEs, mid‑market and large corporates) through LinkedIn, industry databases, referrals, trade associations and cold outreach. Build and maintain a steady pipeline of qualified leads through calls, emails and field visits. Map decision‑makers and influencers within prospect organisations.
Client Acquisition
Pitch banking solutions such as corporate salary accounts, current accounts, cash management services, payroll solutions, and business credit products. Pitch insurance solutions such as group mediclaim, group term life, group personal accident, keyman insurance, and commercial lines policies. Conduct needs analysis and recommend suitable product bundles. Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations in coordination with underwriting, product and credit teams. Negotiate terms and close deals within approved pricing and policy guidelines.
Account Management and Cross‑Selling
Act as the primary point of contact for onboarded corporate clients. Ensure smooth onboarding, including KYC, documentation, employee enrolment and policy issuance. Handle renewals, endorsements, claim escalations and service requests with internal teams. Find opportunities to cross‑sell and upsell (for example, offering group insurance to a salary‑account client, or adding retail products for employees). Excellent verbal and written communication in English and the regional language. Strong presentation, negotiation and objection‑handling skills.
Comfortable with cold calling, field visits and target‑driven work. Working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and CRM tools. Self‑motivated, persistent and resilient under rejection. Good relationship‑building and follow‑up discipline. Preferred Attributes Experience selling employee benefits or SME banking products. Own two‑wheeler and valid driving licence for field roles.
