Job summary

IDFC FIRST Bharat is seeking a Branch Manager for Group Loans to oversee end-to-end branch operations, drive disbursement targets, and ensure portfolio quality. You will lead a team, perform credit appraisal, supervise field staff, and coordinate with regional office to expand and optimize branch performance.

The role requires strong knowledge of Group Loans/JLG, risk management, and excellent stakeholder communication. Travel within the territory and local language proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years in NBFC/MFI with 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Graduate/PG in Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Group Loans/JLG/Microfinance operations.
  • Willingness to travel within the branch territory; local language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end branch operations for group loan business.
  • Drive disbursement targets and achieve business growth as per company objectives.
  • Monitor and control portfolio quality, PAR, and delinquency levels.
  • Lead, train, and supervise field staff, credit officers, and branch team.
  • Conduct group formation, center meetings, and customer relationship management.
  • Ensure proper credit appraisal, documentation, and loan processing as per policy.
  • Strengthen customer acquisition and retention in the assigned territory.
  • Implement effective collection strategies to maintain healthy repayment rates.
  • Ensure adherence to internal audit, compliance, and regulatory norms (RBI/NBFC guidelines).
  • Prepare branch MIS reports and review performance metrics regularly.
  • Handle customer grievances and resolve field-level operational issues.
  • Coordinate with regional office and support branch expansion initiatives.

Job description

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in NBFC/MFI with minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory/Branch Manager role
  • Proven experience in handling Group Loan portfolio
  • Strong understanding of rural/field operations preferred
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in Microfinance / JLG lending model
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the branch territory
  • Local language proficiency
