Experienced in leading the predevelopment and concept design of high-voltage battery systems for electric trucks and buses, with responsibility for mechatronic and electronic components. Skilled in technology scouting, benchmarking, functional safety, cybersecurity, EMC compliance, and translating emerging battery technologies into industrial product roadmaps while coordinating advanced engineering initiatives and cross-functional teams.
To ensure that you will-
- Take responsibility for mechatronic and electrical components and systems in the field of high-voltage battery technology for electric trucks and buses – from new technologies predevelopment investigations through the concept phase.
- Assume technical responsibility for electronic and mechatronic components while working closely with interdisciplinary development teams.
- Ensure compliance with Cyber Security, Functional Safety, and EMC requirements at both component and system levels.
- Experience in evaluating and maturing emerging technologies with low Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and Knowledge of next-generation battery technologies.
- Proven ability to assess future technology trends and derive implications for commercial vehicle applications.
- Experience with technology scouting, benchmarking, and competitive analysis.
- Maintain a holistic understanding of the overall system architecture, with particular focus on hardware and software interfaces and the functions of individual components within the complete system.
- Define and align component requirements, review technical specifications, and derive suitable test and validation strategies in predevelopment environment.
- Ability to translate scientific findings into industrial product development roadmaps.
- Represent the interests of your area of expertise in interdisciplinary teams, project coordination meetings, and technical reviews.
- Proactively bring in new ideas in predevelopment/advanced engineering to increase customer value.
- Development: Coordinate small Advanced Engineering initiatives in the field of power electronics
- Support the team in preparing predevelopment content for management.
- Experience in integrating hardware and software components as well as managing interfaces within complex systems.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety, relevant EMC regulations, and automotive Cyber Security requirements
- Curiosity and passion for exploring future technologies.
- Ability to work with incomplete information and make fact-based recommendations.
- Demonstrated capability to challenge assumptions and identify technical risks early.
