Job summary

MAN Truck & Bus India Pvt. Ltd. in Pune invites a seasoned Functional Safety engineer to join the Cabin and Chassis team. You will drive safety concepts and ensure ISO 26262 compliance across the EV powertrain domain.

You will review hardware specifications, lead safety analyses (FTA/FMEA/FMEDA), and collaborate with suppliers while aligning with project timelines. Willingness to travel internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience in Functional Safety ISO 26262.
• Experience with ISO 26262 Part 2–6 and ASIL decomposition.
• Domain: EV Powertrain.
• Knowledge of Safety Analysis methods (FTA, FMEA, FMEDA).
• Review hardware specifications from suppliers.
• Ability to propose improvements in system architecture and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Functional Safety concepts per ISO 26262.
• Review system requirements and safety analyses.
• Collaborate with suppliers on hardware design and safety concepts.
• Prepare HSIs and safety documentation.
• Support project management and travel internationally.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in Functional Safety ISO 26262, specifically in:
• Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 and Part 6 from ISO 26262 2018
• Domain‑EV Powertrain
• Good knowledge or experience in System Requirement Engineering
• Good knowledge of Safety Analysis methods like FTA, FMEA, FMEDA
• Strong knowledge on Part 5 from ISO 26262
• Basis knowledge of Part 6 from ISO 26262
• ASIL Decomposition, Freedom from Interference
• Basic knowledge on project and issue management systems like JIRA is preferable
• Shall be able to suggest improvements in System architecture, hardware design and diagnostics from suppliers
• Shall be able to review hardware specifications from suppliers
• Shall be able to understand and make HSI documents
• Shall be able to build Safety concepts
• Flexible for international travel (e.g., 3 months)

Software Skills:

• Reliability Work Bench for FTA, MS Project, MS Visio

Language Skills:

• Must be fluent in English

Good to have:

• ISO 26262 Level 1 Certification
• Reliability Engineering
• Proactive in closing gaps & improving processes
• Flexible for international travel (e.g., 3 months)
