Job summary

Delifrance India is seeking an experienced Training & Development Specialist to lead barista training across our Indian outlets. You will drive onboarding, skill-based programs, and calibration of espresso quality to ensure consistent guest experiences.

You will develop modules for varied proficiency levels, train teams on signature beverages, and reinforce SOPs for hot and cold drinks. Travel across multi-location outlets will be required to maintain standards and support new openings.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in specialty coffee or caf; at least 12 years in training/supervisory roles
• Strong understanding of coffee theory, espresso equipment, and manual brewing
• Experience in F&B or retail chains preferred
• Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills
• Barista certification (SCA or equivalent) is a plus
• Personal attributes: passion for coffee, energetic and patient trainer

Responsibilities

• Train onboarding and skill-based training for new baristas on espresso extraction, milk steaming, beverage prep, and presentation
• Develop and deliver training modules for different proficiency levels from beginner to advanced
• Train teams on Dlifrance's signature beverages, brewing techniques, and presentation standards
• Implement and reinforce SOPs for beverages including hot and cold drinks
• Ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, hygiene, and service etiquette
• Conduct regular audits to ensure outlets maintain beverage consistency
• Calibrate coffee quality across outlets with routine calibration of machines and grinders
• Monitor quality via tasting sessions, guest feedback, and internal reviews
• Troubleshoot equipment or extraction issues and escalate when needed
• Train staff on origin stories, flavor notes, and brewing methods to engage guests
• Promote upselling and cross-selling techniques through barista conversations
• Drive product awareness for seasonal launches and beverage innovations
• Observe barista performance to provide feedback and identify gaps
• Conduct refresher sessions or retraining as needed
• Maintain training logs, feedback forms, and skill assessment records
• Support new store openings with pre-launch training, setup support, and SOP briefings

• Perform daily/weekly calibration of coffee machines and grinders across outlets to maintain flavor profiles
• Monitor quality through tasting sessions, guest feedback, and internal reviews
• Troubleshoot equipment or extraction issues and escalation to service support when needed
• Product Knowledge & Guest InteractionTrain staff on origin stories, flavor notes, and brewing methods to enhance guest engagement

• Performance Monitoring & Evaluation
• Observe barista performance during live service to provide feedback and identify gaps

• Train new teams during store pre-launch period, assist with bar setup, workflow planning, and service simulations
• Ensure equipment calibration, menu briefing, and SOP training before go-live
