Job summary

Beckhoff Automation - INDIA in Coimbatore invites an application engineer to develop machine programs according to customer specifications and to offer standard and custom training on Beckhoff products and projects.

You will document all project activities, maintain current technical knowledge, and advise customers on proper technology selection, use, maintenance, and training for specific applications in an English-speaking environment.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in ECE, E&I, Mechatronics, or Electronics and Communication.
• 2–7 years of work experience in automation or related fields.
• Experience with IEC 61131-3 and Beckhoff hardware preferred.
• Excellent written and oral English communication.
• Strong analytical and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine programs according to customer specifications.
• Offer standard and custom training to support Beckhoff products and projects.
• Documentation and recording of all project activities.

Beckhoff implements open automation systems using proven PC-based control technology. The main areas that the product range covers are industrial PCs, I/O and fieldbus components, drive technology, automation software, control cabinet-free automation, and hardware for machine vision.

We are a representative office in Coimbatore, India, and we are actively expanding our team and looking for a suitable application engineer.

Responsibilities

• develop machine programs according to customer specifications
• offering standard and custom training to support Beckhoff products and projects
• documentation and recording of all project activities
• maintain a high degree of relevant technical knowledge to fulfil the listed job responsibilities
• advise customers on proper technology selection, use, maintenance, and training for specific applications

Qualifications

• bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology (E&TC, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, E&E)
• 2 to 7 years of work experience
• experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including (object-oriented extensions)
• understanding of PLCs, motion controllers, robotics, distributed I/O, fieldbus systems (EtherCAT) and HMI technologies.
• previous technical training and / or Beckhoff Automation experience
• visual Studio and/or object-oriented programming (OOP) in automation
• strong analytical and reasoning skills to collaborate in a fast-paced, action-oriented team
• excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to customers, companywide, and/or departmental meetings in English
