Job summary

SK Agro Foodtech in Mumbai seeks a Head of Accounts to own financial records, plant accounting, tax compliance and fiscal controls. You will manage GL, costing, inventory valuation, and ERP systems to automate reporting and ensure 100% statutory alignment.

The ideal candidate has 8–12+ years in hardcore accounting, with CA/Inter-CA/CMA preferred and strong leadership abilities to guide a manufacturing accounting team.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of hardcore accounting experience, with leadership exposure.
• CA/Inter-CA/CMA qualification highly preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, printing/packaging, polymers, or FMCG is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GL, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable end-to-end.
• Supervise cost accounting and inventory valuation across production.
• Manage cash flows, treasury and working capital.
• Ensure GST/Direct/Indirect tax compliance and ITC reconciliation.
• Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors; maintain ERP accuracy.

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose The Head of Accounts will take absolute ownership of the company's financial records, plant accounting, tax compliances, and fiscal controls. This role demands a sharp financial mind capable of managing the complexities of manufacturing accounting (such as raw material fluctuations, polymer/foil laminate inventory valuation, and production costing) while ensuring 100% statutory alignment.

Key Responsibilities

1. 
   

   Core Financial Accounting & Plant Operations Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable (vendor and raw material suppliers), and Accounts Receivable (client invoicing and collections).

   
   

   Supervise accurate Manufacturing Costing & Inventory Valuation monitoring raw material yields, scrap/wastage, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods across production runs.

   
   

   Manage corporate cash flows, treasury functions, and optimize working capital cycles to match raw material procurement demands.

   
   


2. 
   

   Statutory Compliance & Taxation Ensure absolute compliance with Indian corporate laws, Direct Taxes, and Indirect Taxes.

   
   

   Lead the timely and flawless filing of GST (GSTR-1, 3B, 9/9C), ensuring correct Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation with GSTR-2B.

   
   

   Oversee Income Tax compliances, Advanced Tax calculations, and TDS/TCS returns filing.

   
   


3. 
   

   Reporting, Audits & Systems Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement) to the executive leadership team.

   
   

   Serve as the primary anchor for Statutory Audits, Tax Audits, and Internal Audits, coordinating directly with external auditors to ensure clean closures.

   
   

   Maintain and optimize our ERP systems ([e.g., Tally Prime / SAP]) to automate reporting workflows and eliminate manual tracking errors.

   
   


4. 
   

   Team Leadership Directly manage, train, and mentor the internal accounts and billing team at the corporate office.

   
   

   Establish strict internal accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and check-and-balance protocols.

   
   

Preferred candidate profile

Ideal Candidate Profile Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Commerce/Finance (B.Com / M.Com). Chartered Accountant (CA) or Inter-CA / CMA (ICWA) qualification is highly preferred. Experience: 8 to 12+ years of hardcore accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or lead position within a manufacturing, printing/packaging, polymers, or FMCG company.

Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime (or relevant manufacturing ERPs) and exceptional MS Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis). Core Knowledge: Deep, operational understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), manufacturing ledger handling, and practical GST/TDS laws. Traits: Exceptional eye for detail, assertive leadership skills, strong professional ethics, and a problem‑solving mindset.
