Murphy is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team delivering renewable energy and HV/MV substation and cables projects across Ireland. Murphy focuses on recruiting and retaining our employees so that the company can continue to develop and succeed within the industry. • Develop knowledge in planning, managing and delivering works in a safe, controlled and environmentally sustainable manner.
• Ensure a strong culture for Never Harm is present on the project; actively promote engagement with the CDP programme.
• Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed regularly.
• Carry out all work in accordance with health and safety and any other legal requirements.

• Design HV/MV substations and control/protection systems.
• Produce drawings: SLDs, layouts, schematics.
• Detailed design covering all aspects of High & low voltage equipment and control and protection systems.
• Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation.
• Ensure compliance with design standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Comply with specific project safety requirements.
• Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue.
• Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control.
• Resolving technical problems at all levels.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1+ years’ experience working as an Electrical Engineer (desirable).
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD.
• Good technical capabilities, teamwork abilities and initiative.
• Strong written, oral and numeracy skills.
