Job Description
The principal purpose of the Solar Farm Maintenance role is to ensure the efficient operation and longevity of solar energy installations by performing regular maintenance and repairs. The major objective is to maximize energy production, minimize downtime, and ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform varying corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for solar PV systems.
  • Responsible for solar plant monitoring and ensuring that the system is operating optimally.
  • Utilises electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Interact with customers on a professional level as part of a multi-tasking team.
  • Perform onsite installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Check and provide complete documentation to clients.
  • Carry out site root analysis.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques on all major and recurring faults.
  • Investigate technical failures and prepare formal technical reports.
  • Record keeping and management of spare part movements.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in the engineering field.
  • 2+ years of solar technical experience.
  • Working knowledge of power system protection.
  • Able to read and interpret single line diagrams and schematics.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 22kV cable, DC cable systems.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of how to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 kgs.
  • Willing to travel regularly, including at nights.
  • Must be eligible to work full time in Ireland.
  • Must have a valid permit to drive in Ireland independently.
