Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking a Staff Engineer - Money, Risk & Payment Ancillaries based in Ireland. This senior role leads architecture for risk, fraud, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks across global payments with AI-assisted development.

You will design bank-grade, low-latency systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Data/ML, and Compliance to solve complex, scale-ready challenges.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience with Go and/or Kotlin.
• Experience architecting distributed, event-driven, low-latency systems.
• Hands-on experience in financial, payments, or risk-critical systems with emphasis on correctness and auditability.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud-native services (RDS, ECS, EKS, S3).
• Excellent automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end in CI/CD environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and direction across risk, fraud, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks.
• Architect and develop low-latency, real-time systems for risk/fraud decisions.
• Design money movement and reconciliation capabilities with strong consistency and auditable ledgers.
• Build platforms for scam prevention, disputes, and chargebacks in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure services are multi-tenant, scalable, observable, and maintain production ownership.
