Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Staff Engineer for Trust & Vault in an all-remote role based in Ireland. Lead architecture for card vaulting, tokenization, authentication, and payment optimization at global scale.

You will own multi-tenant, low-latency systems, mentor engineers, and drive secure, compliant payment infrastructure. Responsibilities span from designing APIs and event-driven systems to hands-on implementation, with emphasis on security, reliability, and performance in a remote-first

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience with Go and/or Kotlin.
• Proven track record architecting robust, scalable distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns and high-availability design.
• Experience with payment tokenization, card vaulting, authentication, or PCI infrastructure is advantageous.
• Hands-on with AWS and cloud-native services (RDS, ECS, EKS, S3).
• Excellent automated testing practices across unit/integration/e2e tests.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and long-term direction of the Trust & Vault domain.
• Design and evolve secure systems for tokenizing, storing, and retrieving sensitive card data within PCI boundaries.
• Architect and develop authentication capabilities (3DS/SCA, network tokenization).
• Build payment optimization capabilities to improve authorization and acceptance rates.
• Design and maintain low-latency, highly available systems for production.
• Define APIs and event-driven architectures for scalable services.
• Promote ownership and production readiness across teams.
• Ensure multi-tenancy, observability, and resilience are built in.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering tools across architecture and testing.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team technical initiatives.
