Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – Protection based in Ireland. You will own backend systems end to end, architect robust solutions for payment disputes, fraud prevention, and risk automation, and integrate with multiple PSPs and fraud vendors.

The role emphasizes leadership, reliability, and measurable impact in a fully remote, distributed team. You will collaborate with engineering managers, product leadership, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality backend services,

Qualifications

• Proven backend ownership from design to deployment, monitoring and maintenance.
• Strong software engineering and system design skills for scalable architectures.
• Experience building systems from scratch with ownership of ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain robust backend systems with scalable architecture.
• Develop payment dispute automation and integration workflows with PSPs.
• Collaborate with fraud prevention providers to unify risk management workflows.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards within the team.
• Contribute to product development with backend emphasis and supporting frontend when needed.
