Job summary

Dell Technologies’ Cork team is seeking a Software Senior Engineer to help build enterprise-scale storage and AI-enabled solutions within the Unstructured Data Storage group. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, from design to deployment, and collaborate with product owners, architects, and AI agents to deliver robust, scalable systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding in C/C++/Java/Python, distributed systems, API design, and architecture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of programming experience in C, C++, Java or Python
• Experience with filesystem or distributed systems
• Ability to translate business requirements into precise technical specs
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced prompting and context engineering to guide AI tools toward desired outputs
• Experience in software architecture: system design, API design, microservices, distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Work on all aspects of the software development life cycle: planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Author and manage detailed technical specifications
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, AI agents and other engineers to define and implement technical solutions
• Coach and mentor more junior team members
