Job summary

Dell Technologies' Infrastructure Solutions Group in Cork is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and implement software for Dell AI Platform and distributed storage workloads. You will contribute to high-performance, scalable systems and collaborate across teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering with systems/backend focus.
Experience in distributed systems and high-scale storage.
Ability to translate business requirements into precise technical specs.
Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills.
Advanced prompting and context engineering to guide AI tools toward outputs.
Experience in software architecture: system design, API design, microservices, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Work on all aspects of the software development life cycle: planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Author and manage detailed technical specifications.
Collaborate with product owners, architects, AI agents and other engineers to define and implement technical solutions.
Coach and mentor more junior team members.
