Job summary

Dell Technologies in Cork is seeking a Software Principal Engineer to architect, design, and develop sophisticated software systems for manufacturing and product pipelines. You will lead cross-functional teams through the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.

This role emphasizes scalable, secure, and resilient solutions, collaboration with product and manufacturing teams, and mentoring engineers while adopting AI-driven workflows to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years essential in designing, coding, and debugging complex, scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals across languages and OS.
• Experience with multiple programming languages, operating systems, databases, tools, and hardware platforms.
• Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and platforms through training and hands-on experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute across the full Software Development Lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture and design, implementation, testing, and delivery.
• Work as part of a highly motivated Agile development team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Partner closely with Dell product and manufacturing teams to gain deep insight into Dell's server and storage platforms.
• Design software solutions that are scalable, secure, and resilient for high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Learn, apply, and help shape the use of Agentic AI technologies to accelerate development, test, and manufacturing workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, setting a high bar for engineering excellence.
