Job summary

Dell Technologies in Cork is seeking a Software Senior Principal Engineer to help build and shape the Dell AI Platform, UDS, and storage solutions. You will work across the SDLC, collaborating with product owners, architects, and AI agents to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade software.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of hands-on programming in C/C++/Java/Python, experience with filesystem and distributed systems, and strong design skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of programming experience in C, C++, Java, or Python with strong fundamentals.
• Experience in filesystem and distributed systems.
• Ability to translate business requirements into precise technical specs.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced prompting and context engineering to guide AI tools toward outputs.
• Experience in software architecture: system design, API design, microservices, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Work on all aspects of the software development life cycle: planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Author and manage detailed technical specifications.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, AI agents and other engineers to define and implement technical solutions.
• Coach and mentor more junior team members.
