Job summary

Mount Charles Group is seeking a Catering Manager for Trinity House, Coleraine. This role runs 36 hours per week across 4 days in 7, with start/end times 08:00–17:30. You will prepare and serve food to high standards, maintain HACCP compliance, manage counter service, and lead a team focused on excellent customer care.

You will handle purchasing, cash handling, and weekly ETA reporting, while upholding Mount Charles values and supporting staff development. An equal opportunities employer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food is prepared and cooked to an exceptional standard with HACCP where required.
• Prepare service counter and ensure timely service delivery.
• Deliver the highest level of customer service consistently.
• Work as part of a team to maintain service standards.
• Complete administrative tasks including recording temperatures, cleaning schedules, cash handling and daily sales figures.
• Manage purchasing administration, banking and weekly trading account (ETA).
• Report equipment/utensil issues to Head Office.
• Open and close all food outlets in line with procedures.

The Role

• To ensure all food is prepared and cooked to an exceptional standard, ensuring all HACCP regulations are adhered to (if required)
• Ensure the service counter is prepped and ready for service
• Ensure the team are providing the highest level of customer service in a consistent approach to anyone who uses the facility
• Work as part of the team to ensure the service is delivered on time and to the highest possible standard
• Completing any administration as requested which may include recording of food temperatures, updating cleaning schedules, cashing up tills and recording daily sales figures on the system.
• Complete bookwork procedures in line with company requirements; in particular the administration of purchasing, cash handling, banking and management of the weekly estimated trading account (ETA)
• Report defective equipment/ utensils/ work and floor surfaces etc. to the relevant Head Office department
• Ensure the opening and closing of all food outlets are carried out in accordance with Company procedures.

Additional Information

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
