WSP is expanding its Energy team in Ireland and seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our Dublin/Naas/Belfast office. You will deliver power transmission infrastructure as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting design reviews, construction and commissioning across a range of project stages.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chartered status or progressing towards IEng/CEng, and experience with design, operation and testing of high/medium voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with significant post-graduate experience in electrical design/operation.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and member of relevant Engineering Institute.
• Lead role in development of Electrical deliverables and/or asset assessment.
• Knowledge of design, construction and operation of power and energy projects.
• Experience with EirGrid and ESB Networks standards and specifications for electrical design.
• Experience with electrical CAD design software.
• Ability to travel for projects.
• Solid understanding of H&S requirements and designer role under regulations.

Responsabilités

• Act as technical authority across protection and control engineering and support multidisciplinary integration.
• Deliver projects in feasibility, concept, FEED and detailed design stages.
• Develop electrical deliverables like SLDs, cable calculations, plant layouts and BOMs.
• Develop proposals and bids for EC&I discipline and cross-disciplinary proposals.
• Attend owner/client design reviews and ensure compliance with standards and contracts.
• Identify and mitigate health and safety risks in designs.
