Job summary

WSP's Ireland Energy business is expanding its Electricity Transmission & Distribution service line and is seeking an Electrical Substation Design Engineer to join our Dublin, Naas or Belfast office. You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering power transmission infrastructure to support Ireland’s Net Zero targets.

You will produce design drawings, prepare 110kV–400kV plant specifications, review designs for compliance, ensure safety, and participate in design reviews and client

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in HV/MV substation design and associated protection and control.
Knowledge of EirGrid/ESB networks standards and HV/MV plant specs.

Responsibilities

Produce design drawings for Grid and Primary substations.
Prepare electrical plant specifications for 110kV–400kV projects.
Produce substation feasibility reports, layouts, and plant specifications.
Review designs to ensure technical compliance with policies.
Ensure safety risks are identified and managed.
Undertake Owner Engineering design reviews for concept to detailed engineering phases.
Attend design reviews and client meetings.
Support FATs and on-site construction follow-up.
