Job summary

WSP in Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Energy team with offices in Dublin, Naas or Belfast. You will work on delivering power transmission infrastructure to support Net Zero, within a multidisciplinary setting and across varying project stages.

The role emphasizes leading electrical deliverables and coordinating with civils, cables, and primary teams, with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance and opportunities for career development and Chartered status.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering with post-graduate experience in electrical design/operation.
Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and registered with a relevant institute.
Ability and desire to lead development of Electrical deliverables and/or asset assessment under construction or operation.
Knowledge of design, construction and operation of power and energy projects.
Working knowledge of national and international codes and standards in the Power sector.
Experience with calculations, commissioning, operation, maintenance and testing of HV equipment.
Familiarity with EirGrid and ESB Networks standards and technical policies.

Responsibilities

Act as technical authority across protection and control engineering within multidisciplinary teams.
Deliver projects across feasibility to detailed design stages.
Prepare electrical deliverables: SLDs, cable calculations, plant layouts, routing, switchgear philosophies, BOMs.
