Vickerstock are recruiting for a Design Engineering Manager on behalf of a successful engineering and manufacturing business in County Monaghan. Responsibilities

Vickerstock are recruiting for a Design Engineering Manager on behalf of a successful engineering and manufacturing business in County Monaghan.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager or strong Lead Design Engineer looking for a senior position with genuine responsibility for people, products and engineering performance.

You will lead and develop a team of Design Engineers responsible for the design, development and continuous improvement of complex manufactured products.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You will remain involved in technical decisions and product development while giving your team the direction and support they need to deliver.

You will also work closely with Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical, reliable and successfully delivered into production.

Key Responsibilities for this Design Engineering Manager position

• Lead, support and develop a team of Design Engineers

Essential Criteria for this Design Engineering Manager position

• Strong Mechanical Design Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing Engineers
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design experience
• Experience taking products from design through to manufacture
• Good understanding of manufacturing and Design for Manufacture
• Experience managing engineering projects and priorities
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Good communication and people leadership ability

A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Experience within machinery, equipment, fabricated products, heavy engineering or other complex manufacturing environments would be particularly relevant, although Engineers from other strong mechanical design backgrounds will also be considered.

We are particularly interested in speaking with Design Engineering Managers, Engineering Managers, Mechanical Design Managers and Lead Design Engineers. We would also welcome applications from experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers who have already taken responsibility for people or projects and are ready to progress into engineering management.
