Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment seeks a senior Design, Products and Proposals Manager in Galway to lead a cross‑functional team across mechanical, electrical, process and product engineering. You will drive new product development from concept to commercialisation and oversee tendering and strategic proposals for complex water and industrial treatment projects.

The role emphasizes standardisation, offsite design and regulatory compliance, with a focus on delivering commercially viable solutions

Qualifications

• Level 8 degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years' experience across engineering design, product development, process engineering and/or proposal management.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, ideally including modular or packaged systems.
• Strong process engineering and treatment technology experience.
• Proven experience in estimating, tendering and commercial proposal development.
• Experience with product compliance, certification and relevant engineering standards.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic and analytical approach with the ability to lead innovation and make sound technical and commercial decisions.
• Experience with AI tools, bots or agents to improve engineering/proposal processes would be advantageous.
• Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
• Valid work permit and authorisation to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products and designs meet relevant regulatory, safety and certification requirements, including CE, UKCA and ATEX where applicable.
• Develop product roadmaps and identify opportunities for new technologies and market development.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary engineering and proposals team.
• Contribute to strategic planning, resource management, innovation and continuous improvement across the business.

We are partnering with a Galway based client who arean established engineering companywithin the water, wastewater and industrial treatment sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Design, Products and Proposals Manager to join their senior leadership team.

This is a senior multidisciplinary role covering engineering design, product development, process engineering, estimating and tendering. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineering and proposal professionals while supporting innovation, standardisation and commercial growth.
