Job summary

Vickerstock are recruiting for a Design Engineering Manager on behalf of a successful engineering and manufacturing business in County Monaghan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager or strong Lead Design Engineer looking for a senior position with responsibility for people, products and engineering performance.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical Design Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design experience.
• Experience taking products from design through to manufacture.
• Good understanding of DF manufacture and production processes.
• Excellent communication and people leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of Design Engineers
• Manage design projects from concept through to manufacture
• Provide technical direction and support to the Engineering team
• Lead new product development and improvements to existing products
• Review designs and support key technical decisions
• Work closely with Manufacturing to resolve engineering and production issues
• Manage engineering priorities, resources and project timescales
• Improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost
• Encourage practical problem-solving and continuous improvement across the team
