Suir Engineering Ltd is seeking a Cad Technician to join our Estimation department at head office, Waterford, Ireland. You will produce precise technical drawings and documentation, collaborating with engineers, project managers and the design team to support large scale projects across energy, pharma, data centres and more.

The role focuses on accurate setting out, drawing updates, and ensuring compliance with standards while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement at Suir.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an AutoCAD Technician in construction, engineering or related industries.
• Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of aluminium/steel structures and fabrication would help.

We have exciting opportunity for a Cad Techinican to join Suir Engineering Ltd in our Estimation department in our Head Office, Waterford, Ireland

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and documentation while working closely with engineers, project managers and other members of the design team.

The Setting Out Engineer is responsible for providing accurate and precise setting out points and measurements on construction sites, ensuring that the structure or infrastructure being built aligns with the project plans and specifications. This role plays a crucial part in the successful completion of construction projects by providing technical support, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring that work is executed correctly.

What you will be doing

• Produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare drawings from design information, specifications and project requirements.
• Update and amend drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure drawings are accurate and comply with relevant standards and specifications.
• Work closely with engineers, designers and project teams.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control.
• Assist with the preparation of construction and as-built drawings.
• Review drawings and identify discrepancies or design issues.
• Ensure all documentation is maintained to a high standard.

Is this job for me?

• Previous experience working as an AutoCAD Technician within construction, engineering, manufacturing or a related industry.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of technical drawing principles.
• Knowledge or experience working with aluminium and/or steel structures, fabrication or detailing would be a significant advantage.
• Understanding of materials, fabrication processes and construction methods would be beneficial.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with Revit or other design software would be advantageous.
