Job Description

Job Overview:
The Senior Project Fabrication Manager is responsible for managing all Fabrication Yard (BFY) activities related to fabricating and load-out of the NFXP Topsides at BFY. The role reports to both the Project Director and BFY Fabrication Yard Management, ensuring alignment, schedule reliability, efficiency, and budget adherence.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Preparation phase:
  • Evaluate and develop strategies for fabrication tasks not performed by BFY
  • Ensure timely delivery of fabrication engineering deliverables from Chennai Engineering Centre and CSE
  • Collaborate with the Project Fabrication Manager on readiness matrices
  • Coordinate lessons learned from Batam Yard and cascade welding procedures
  • Prepare scope of work and BOQ for yard subcontractors, assist in tendering, qualify subcontractors, and oversee mobilization
  • Develop strategies for valves testing and procurement of materials
  • Lead readiness processes for fabrication start, mobilize teams, and staff supervision units
  • Implement HSE and Quality standards at BFY
  • Coordinate fabrication sequence, manpower, and schedule development
  • Supervise fabrication procedures, material handling, and reporting
  • Manage procurement, welding procedures, and remeasurement processes
• Fabrication phase:
  • Lead HSE efforts, supervise teams, and oversee material storage and allocation
  • Supervise fabrication works, monitor progress, and ensure material certification
  • Manage subcontractors, coordinate support, and address gaps between project and yard needs
  • Prepare for load-out, sea-fastening, and QC activities
  • Manage MOC process and reporting
• Post Fabrication phase:
  • Coordinate interfaces for transportation and installation
  • Transfer red mark-up drawings to Engineering
• Ensure compliance with McDermott policies, training, and team understanding of responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor of Sciences or Engineering
• Fluency in English
• 20+ years in Oil and Gas projects, 15+ in Hook-Up and Commissioning
• Strong understanding of EPI projects, engineering, and construction
• Scheduling expertise, commercial and technical acumen
• Excellent communication, ownership, and proactive issue identification skills
• Knowledge of lessons learned reports and root cause analysis
• Exceptional time and priority management skills
