Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Jakarta is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to drive and monitor the service sales strategy, develop bids and proposals, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to win new business.

The role requires strong technical and commercial capabilities, proposal estimation, tender management and risk analysis, with excellent communication and planning skills. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering compliant, high-quality bids.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in Sales Engineering or project control related to transformer products, substations, LV/MV/HV switchgear.
• Knowledge of substations in electrical power market.
• Experience in proposal estimation, tender management, risk analysis.
• Strong time management, presentation and planning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and Salesforce.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
• Good in English communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Sales Managers during meetings and prepare proposals including technical and cost elements.
• Identify vendors for equipment and services, evaluate supplier offers, and archive documentation.
• Ensure well-documented tenders with full costs and assess risks in bids and contracts.
• Participate in Risk Review procedures and coordinate inputs from related functions.
• Regularly report bid status using defined tools and analyze win/loss reasons.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Management to coordinate subcontractor requests.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
• Prepare post-order documentation and handover following commercial processes.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.
