Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Jakarta is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to support the sales team by compiling technical and cost proposals, and coordinating tender activities across substation and transformer projects.

The role requires a strong background in proposal estimation, risk analysis, and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, with excellent English communication. Based in Jakarta with on-site work expectations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years in sales engineering or project control roles.
• Knowledge of substations and transformer products.
• Experience in proposal estimation, tender management, and risk analysis.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Sales Managers during meetings and prepare proposals with technical and cost elements.
• Identify potential vendors and evaluate supplier offers for specification match; document offers and decisions.
• Ensure tender documentation is complete with full costs and risk analysis.
• Participate in risk review and ensure timely inputs from related functions.
• Report bid status using defined tools and analyze reasons bids are won or lost.
• Coordinate subcontractor requests with Supply Chain Management; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare post-order documentation and follow commercial processes before handover.
