Job summary

McDermott in Batam is seeking a Principal Payroll Administrator to provide solutions for atypical payroll issues. The role impacts the quality of the team’s work and requires communicating technical payroll information clearly.

You will execute end-to-end payroll activities, reconcile taxes, back up payroll supervisor, and prepare special payroll reports, while ensuring SOX documentation and process documentation are up to date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in payroll.
• Able to perform gross to net calculations, reconcile taxes, and resolve GL and Treasury issues.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Team player and individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Execution of assigned end to end Payroll activities.
• Reconcile payroll taxes.
• Back up to payroll supervisor.
• Prepare special payroll reports as needed.
• Ensure all SOX documents are completed for each on-cycle and off-cycle payroll.
• Assist in the maintenance of documentation for all pay groups (desk procedures, job aids, checklists).
• Perform testing of new system functionalities/processes or assist with testing as needed using the ALM system.
• Communicate with different teams to ensure all processes are accurate, complete.
• Research and resolve issues regarding posting, funding, and taxes.
• Recommend process improvements to payroll-related items.
• Ensure all payroll processing documents are stored in proper files.
• Maintain payroll files regularly (electronically).
• Attend regular meetings.
• Cross-train on other processes.
• Process any pay group including off-cycle payrolls, as needed.
• Process new hires/rehires for any pay group.
• Contribute to process improvement opportunities.
