We are seeking an experienced Payroll, Compensation and Benefit Manager to join our team in Jakarta on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our accounting function that plays a vital role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and effective management of our employee compensation and benefits programmes. As Payroll, Compensation and Benefit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll operations, designing and administering competitive compensation structures, and managing employee benefit programmes that attract and retain top talent. This role requires a meticulous professional with strong expertise in payroll management, compensation planning, and benefits administration who can ensure organisational compliance whilst contributing to our overall human resources strategy.
Key responsibilities
Manage and oversee all payroll operations, including processing, reconciliation, and disbursement of employee compensation on a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly basis as required
Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with Indonesian labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements, including mandatory benefit contributions
Design, develop, and administer competitive compensation structures and salary scales aligned with market benchmarks and organisational objectives
Manage employee benefits programmes including health insurance, pension schemes, and other statutory and discretionary benefits
Prepare and maintain detailed payroll records, documentation, and supporting schedules for audit and compliance purposes
Conduct regular payroll audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
Liaise with tax authorities, statutory bodies, and external payroll service providers to ensure compliance and timely submission of required reports and contributions
Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures that promote efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
Provide advice to management on compensation and benefits matters, including cost implications and best practices
Train and support payroll staff and other team members on payroll processes and policy updates
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee compensation and benefits information
Stay current with changes in labour laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices in Indonesia
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in payroll management, compensation administration, or a closely related accounting role
In-depth knowledge of Indonesian labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory benefit requirements
Proficiency with payroll software systems and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) platforms
Strong expertise in compensation and benefits programme design and administration
Excellent attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines accurately
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Strong understanding of payroll compliance, statutory contributions, and tax implications
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex compensation and benefits matters clearly to employees and management
Professional certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent qualification is highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong organisational and time-management skills with ability to prioritise effectively
