Job summary

PT Horizon Internusa Persada is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure quality across web, mobile, and backend applications. You will work with software engineers, product analysts, and DevOps throughout the software development lifecycle to plan, execute, and validate testing, identify defects, and help deliver reliable software.

The role requires 1-2 years in an Agile environment, API testing, SQL knowledge, and basic test automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience as a QA Engineer / Software Tester in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing principles, and functional testing.
• Experience creating test scenarios/test cases including regression testing.
• Hands-on API testing using Postman/Insomnia; familiar with REST, JSON, JWT.
• Good knowledge of SQL; familiarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is a plus.
• Basic-intermediate test automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar.
• Able to investigate and report bugs including API, DB, logs, and root cause.

Job description

We are looking for a QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and stability of our web, mobile, and backend applications.

The QA Engineer will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Analysts, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. The role is responsible for planning and executing testing activities, identifying defects, validating fixes, and helping the development team deliver reliable and production-ready software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze product requirements, user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria to identify potential quality risks.
• Perform API testing and validate request, response, business logic, authentication, and error handling.
• Validate application data against databases and backend services.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using Jira.
• Provide clear and reproducible bug reports with appropriate evidence.
• Perform retesting and regression testing after defects are fixed.
• Collaborate with developers to identify the possible root cause of defects.
• Participate in release planning and provide QA status and release readiness information.
• Identify potential risks and edge cases before features are released to production.
• Maintain and improve regression test coverage for critical business flows.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for repetitive and critical test scenarios.
• Support testing of third-party integrations and external services.
• Monitor and investigate production issues when required and assist the development team in reproducing production defects.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, testing standards, and overall software quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience as a QA Engineer / Software Tester in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, software testing principles, and functional testing.
• Experienced in creating test scenarios/test cases, including positive, negative, edge cases, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman, Insomnia, or similar tools; familiar with REST API, HTTP methods, JSON, authentication, and JWT.
• Good knowledge of SQL and data validation; familiarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is a plus.
• Basic-intermediate experience in test automation using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar frameworks.
• Able to perform bug investigation and reporting, including API, database, logs, and root-cause investigation.
• Basic understanding of software security, authentication, authorization, and OWASP principles is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and ownership skills.
• Proactive in identifying quality risks and comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment.

Willing to Full WFO in Haji Nawi, South Jakarta.
