Job summary

PT Horizon Internusa Persada is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure quality across web, mobile, and backend applications. You will work with software engineers, product analysts, and DevOps throughout the software development lifecycle to plan, execute, and validate testing, identify defects, and help deliver reliable software.

The role requires 1-2 years in an Agile environment, API testing, SQL knowledge, and basic test automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience as a QA Engineer / Software Tester in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing principles, and functional testing.
• Experience creating test scenarios/test cases including regression testing.
• Hands-on API testing using Postman/Insomnia; familiar with REST, JSON, JWT.
• Good knowledge of SQL; familiarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is a plus.
• Basic-intermediate test automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar.
• Able to investigate and report bugs including API, DB, logs, and root cause.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, specs to identify quality risks.
• Perform API testing and validate requests, responses, and error handling.
• Validate data against databases and backend services.
• Document, prioritise, and track defects with clear evidence.
• Provide reproducible bug reports and retest after fixes.
• Collaborate with developers to identify root causes of defects.
• Contribute to release planning with QA status and readiness.
• Maintain and improve regression test coverage for critical flows.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for key scenarios.
• Support testing of third-party integrations and external services.
• Monitor production issues when required and help reproduce defects.
• Contribute to QA process improvements and testing standards.
