Job summary

Steradian Data Optima is hiring a QA Engineer to develop, execute, and maintain test plans for web, mobile, and API applications onsite in Jakarta. You will perform diverse testing types, validate data integrity, and manage defects in Jira while collaborating across the SDLC in an Agile setting.

The role requires 1–2 years in QA, experience with Postman, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD awareness, plus strong analytical and communication skills with a willingness to work onsite in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience as a QA Engineer or Software Tester.
• Experience testing web, mobile, and API applications with Postman.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for project/documentation management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and practices.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methodologies.
• Ability to create, execute and maintain comprehensive test documentation and test cases.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of Katalon and Cucumber-based test scenarios is a plus.
• Willing to work onsite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web, mobile, and API applications.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing for quality and reliability.
• Conduct API testing using Postman and validate system integrations.
• Perform database validation and data integrity testing for accuracy and consistency.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using Jira.
• Collaborate with Developers, BAs, Product Owners, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Validate application functionality against business and technical requirements.
• Support release readiness by executing manual test cycles and quality checks per delivery process.
• Prepare and maintain testing documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending testing and QA best practices.
• Perform manual testing across functional behavior, UI/display, and basic performance aspects.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Validate application functionality against business and technical requirements.

Support release readiness by executing manual test cycles, regression checks, and quality validation within the agreed delivery process.

Prepare and maintain testing documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending testing and quality assurance best practices.

Perform manual testing across functional behavior, user interface/display, and basic performance aspects of the application.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer or Software Tester.

Experience in web application testing, mobile application testing, API testing using Postman, and database validation.

Experience using project and documentation management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices.

Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Experience working with Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methodologies.

Ability to create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test documentation and test cases.

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and collaboration abilities.

Familiarity with Katalon and Cucumber-based test scenarios is an advantage.

Willing to work onsite

Nice to Have

Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.

Familiarity with Katalon and Cucumber-based testing documentation or test scenarios is an advantage.

Familiarity with SQL and database query validation.

Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and integration testing.

Experience working with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Knowledge of performance, load, and security testing methodologies.

Experience using Git or other version control systems.

ISTQB or other QA-related certifications are an advantage.
