Job summary

PT Sefong Industries Batam is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to lead and oversee our Batam facility's manufacturing operations. This full-time expat role focuses on optimizing efficiency, safety, and compliance while maintaining high productivity across production lines.

The role requires 5–7 years in production supervision, a track record of driving operational improvements, and strong skills in lean manufacturing and quality controls.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing activities.
• Supervise and manage production staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.
• Monitor production schedules and coordinate with departments to meet delivery deadlines and quality targets.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental compliance procedures on the production floor.
• Inspect equipment and lines to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns.
• Track production metrics, analyse data and prepare reports for senior management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage inventory levels and raw materials to optimize stock and reduce waste.
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Liaise between production teams and other departments for seamless operations.

About the role

PT Sefong Industries Batam is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to join our manufacturing operations in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a full-time expat position that offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee production operations at our facility. As Production Superintendent, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimising production efficiency across our manufacturing processes. This role is critical to achieving our strategic objectives and maintaining our competitive advantage in the manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations and ensure all manufacturing activities run smoothly and efficiently
• Supervise and manage production staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback to maintain high productivity standards
• Monitor production schedules and coordinate with relevant departments to meet delivery deadlines and quality targets
• Implement and enforce health, safety and environmental compliance procedures across the production floor
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and production lines to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns
• Track production metrics, analyse performance data and prepare detailed reports for senior management
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality
• Manage inventory levels and raw materials to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce waste
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime
• Liaise between production teams and other departments to ensure seamless operations and communication

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in production supervision or a similar leadership role within manufacturing environments
• Proven track record of managing production teams and driving operational efficiency
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and lean production methodologies
• Excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance requirements in manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to analyse production data, identify trends and implement improvements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Experience with production planning and scheduling systems
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work shifts as required to support 24/7 operations if applicable
• Preferred: Experience in expat roles or working in international manufacturing settings
• Preferred: Knowledge of specific manufacturing sectors such as electronics, automotive or industrial components
