Job summary

PT Talenta Eksekutif Asia in Tangerang is seeking an R&D Formulation Manager for personal care. You will lead from concept to production-ready formulations with a focus on scratch formulations and genuine innovation, not just minor tweaks.

You will build and lead the Indonesian R&D team, develop processes, oversee trials and stability testing, and ensure scale-up to mass production while aligning with BPOM Indonesia and international cosmetic safety standards. Mandarin fluency is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cosmetology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years hands-on formulation experience in cosmetic/personal care manufacturing.
• Proven track record creating new formulations from scratch.
• Leadership of an R&D formulation team at managerial level.
• Expertise in emulsion technology, surfactants, and formulation optimization.
• Experience with accelerated and real-time stability testing and validation.
• Familiarity with BPOM Indonesia and/or NMPA China standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation research and innovation from concept to production-ready formulas.
• Identify opportunities from raw materials trends and active ingredients.
• Design and oversee laboratory trials, testing, and validation.
• Manage scale-up from lab to mass production ensuring consistency.
• Develop skincare, haircare, and body care formulations.
• Support regulatory compliance and documentation practices.
• Collaborate with QA/QC, Production, Marketing, and procurement.
• Build and mentor the local R&D team and set roadmaps.
