Job summary

WIK Group in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking an experienced shipping manager to lead inbound and outbound operations, ensure timely freight releases, and optimize forwarding activities. You will collaborate with internal teams and partners to maintain material flow and schedule adherence.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in logistics or international trade and at least six years of managerial experience in shipping within manufacturing or trading settings.

• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in SAP shipping & MS Office.
• Good English communication in reading, speaking, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal and external cross teams and customers for on-time S/O releasing and freight planning.
• Coordinate with PMC, customs, shipping teammates and forwarders to ensure inbound materials availability.
• Support PM, CS and other teams on urgent shipping requests and monitor monthly trade and finance cut-offs.
• Verify monthly statements to forwarders and issue debit notes to customers as needed.
• Prepare shipping records/reports and monitor terminal/ocean market trends for proactive actions.
• Handle tasks assigned by department head.

Your Tasks

• Work internal and external cross teams, customers for max S/O releasing, goods availability, reasonable loading plan and on time doc to customers and WIK forwarders and customers on freight and schedules for alternative shipping plan to max shipments.
• Collaboration with PMC, customs, shipping teammates and forwarders to support inbound operation for on time materials availability.
• Support PM, CS and other teams, when necessary, on urgent cases or new shipping requests and support team to solve operational issues and monitor monthly trade link and finance cut-offs.
• Verify and confirm monthly statement to forwarders and debit note to customers and work with teammates and cross teams for potential shipping continuous improvements.
• Prepare necessary shipping record/report and keep sight on terminal and ocean market trends for possible advance actions.
• Any tasks assigned by dept head.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, international trade with minimum 6 years of experience in the same position from manufacturing or trading company for shipping managerial.
• Excellent and familiar with whole shipping inbound and outbound process for air, express, oceans and trucking, goods knowledge and resources for forwarding operation and market.
• Strong in leadership and open mindset with changing consciousness, can find the potential areas to improve.
• Good in English reading, speaking and written, solid skill for Microsoft office, SAP shipping PO# releasing.
• Good attitude, adaptability to company culture, teamwork spirit and influence skills, problem solving skills, able to handle multi-task, ability to perform under high pressure and seek continuous improvement.
