Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking an Export Import Planning Assistant Manager to lead import/export shipment planning and cross-functional coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal teams. The role focuses on ensuring timely product availability, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency and smooth international shipments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business Admin or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Import-Export customs operations, export planning, supply chain or logistics planning experience.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, shipping docs.
  • Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers and government agencies.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or equivalent) and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Good command of English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate import/export shipment plans based on business needs and inventory targets.
  • Monitor forecasts to ensure timely replenishment and product availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and internal stakeholders to align schedules.
  • Track shipment status and resolve delays or disruptions proactively.
  • Oversee end-to-end import/export processes from PO issuance to cargo delivery.
  • Ensure shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, B/L, Origin, etc.) are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Manage import permits, quarantine requirements and regulatory docs as applicable.
  • Analyze logistics costs to identify savings and optimize landed costs.
  • Support freight negotiations and transportation optimization initiatives.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation and audit readiness.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impacts.

Overview

The Export Import Planning Assistant Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating import and export planning activities to ensure timely product availability, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and smooth execution of international shipments.

Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and manage import and export shipment plans based on business requirements and inventory targets.
  • Monitor supply and demand forecasts to ensure timely replenishment and product availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders to align shipment schedules.
  • Track shipment status and proactively resolve potential delays or supply disruptions.

Import & Export Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end import and export processes from purchase order issuance to cargo delivery.
  • Ensure all shipping documents are accurate and completed on time, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, and other required documents.
  • Coordinate customs clearance activities and ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations.
  • Manage import permits, quarantine requirements, and regulatory documentation where applicable.

Cost Control & Optimization

  • Analyze logistics, freight, duty, and import-related costs to identify savings opportunities.
  • Support freight negotiation and transportation optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor landed cost performance and recommend improvement actions.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade agreements, company policies, and government requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness.
  • Monitor changes in trade regulations and assess potential business impacts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Import-Export custom operations, export planning operations, Supply Chain, Logistics Planning.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, shipping documentation, and inter market supply planning operations.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government agencies.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal.
