Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company in Medan, Indonesia, invites applicants for a Sales Executive role. You will monitor leads, contact shippers, and quote rates in line with tariff guidance, then coordinate with the Trade Manager and sales team.

You’ll plan weekly visits, generate visit reports, and gather market data such as rate fluctuations and competitor activity to inform pricing decisions. Strong English, teamwork and initiative are essential.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in any field.
• Fresh graduate up to 1 year in shipping/forwarding preferred.
• Good team player, fast learner and innovative.
• Good English proficiency both verbal and written.
• Strong sense of innovation and initiative.
• Result driven & customer focused.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Excellent negotiation and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure Sales Lead sent to the right PIC and follow up results.
• Call potential shippers and gather prospect shipment / booking information.
• Offer and quote rates to shippers based on tariff rates or Trade Manager instruction.
• Coordinate with other sales or trade managers when quoting rates or following up with customers.
• Submit weekly plan of visits and report after sales calls.
• During visits, gather market information such as rate fluctuations and competitor activity for Trade Managers.
• Follow up discussions by email or call to confirm customer plans and quotes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Sales Manager.
