Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Supervise and coordinate the activities of building maintenance staff and labourers, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards

Conduct daily inspections of building facilities, including common areas, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical systems and structural elements

Plan and schedule routine maintenance and cleaning activities to minimise disruption to building operations

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, liaising with contractors and external service providers as needed

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, expenditures and staff performance

Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations across all building operations

Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment and materials

Train and mentor building maintenance staff on proper procedures, safety protocols and best practices

Communicate regularly with building management and tenants regarding maintenance issues and updates

Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements within the building maintenance function

What we’re looking for

Proven experience working in building maintenance, facilities management or a similar supervisory role

Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural maintenance

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of labourers and maintenance personnel

Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and building codes

Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to maintenance emergencies
