PT Secana Beachtown in Bali is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable facilities and infrastructure across the property.
You will lead the Engineering team, plan preventive and corrective maintenance, manage budgets and assets, plan preventive maintenance and projects, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Hospitality experience is preferred.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, supervising, and controlling all engineering and maintenance activities within the property to ensure that all facilities, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure are maintained in safe, efficient, and optimal working condition. The position is also responsible for managing the Engineering team, controlling operational costs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
Key responsibilities
Plan, organize, and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Ensure all building facilities, rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and operational equipment are properly maintained
Monitor the condition and performance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, swimming pool, fire protection, and other building systems
Lead, supervise, train, and develop the Engineering team
Prepare duty rosters, work schedules, and manpower allocation based on operational needs
Plan and supervise renovation, improvement, repair, and engineering projects
Prepare and manage the Engineering Department budget and monitor departmental expenses
Ensure all engineering operations comply with applicable safety regulations, standards, and company policies
Maintain an updated inventory of engineering equipment, tools, spare parts, and critical assets
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Engineering reports
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably within the hospitality industry
Strong knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems
Good understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, generators, pumps, plumbing, fire and life safety systems, and building maintenance
Experience in preventive maintenance planning and project management
Strong leadership and people management skills
Good knowledge of budgeting and cost control
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Able to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations
Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
