Job summary

The D. H. Chen Foundation is a Hong Kong philanthropic trust seeking a strategic advisor within the Institute of Impact Strategy to help social purpose organisations translate ideas into sustainable growth. You will analyse opportunities, design priorities, and mobilise resources to increase impact.

The role combines analytical work with hands-on implementation, focusing on governance, fundraising, and measurement to advance meaningful social outcomes in Hong Kong's social good sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above with at least 6 years of professional experience in related fields.
• Experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, or social sector is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational, and facilitation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Chinese communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with social purpose organisations to assess readiness for impact growth.
• Help develop strategic priorities, scaling pathways and sustainability plans.
• Lead structured diagnostics and planning to define end goals and roadmaps.
• Identify and accelerate promising social solutions using impact scaling and venture-building approaches.
• Translate recommendations into implementation priorities, milestones and workplans.
• Monitor progress, identify barriers, and adjust plans as needed.
• Strengthen governance, leadership, talent development, fundraising and impact measurement.
• Engage partnerships and mobilise resources to accelerate growth.
• Map ecosystem actors to uncover collaboration opportunities.
• Utilise the Amplifying Impact Model to develop tools and practical resources.
• Document recurring challenges and best practices to improve IIS methodologies.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing through case studies and sector resources.
• Support learning exchanges and peer collaboration across the sector.
