South Island School is seeking a Facilities Manager to support the Business & General Manager in overseeing school facilities and Health & Safety. The role will lead the site team and manage outsourced contractors to ensure the campus remains secure, well-maintained, and safe for all users.
Facilities Management
Ensure safe and efficient operation of the building facilities, including environmental and sustainable consideration.
Manage the housekeeping of the school facilities.
Lead the site and technical team in providing prompt repair, maintenance, and event support.
Co-ordinate with ESF FDD in the routine maintenance programs, eg. Landscaping, electrical audit, fire services, etc.
Monitor the performance of outsourced services (eg. security, cleaning, landscaping, catering, etc.)
Liaise and co-ordinate with FDD and contractors to ensure the works are carried out in the agreed manner and schedule.
Compile, organize and update operational manuals for school fixtures and facilities (eg. Air Cond plan, electricity plan, water meter plan, etc.)
Ensure school complies with statutory building regulations and ordinances.
Organize the school building materials store and ensure items are properly filed/stored/labeled.
Manage the school buildings and improvement projects and handover inspections.
Administer Facilities and Administration Tenders.
Oversee the Health & Safety aspects and drive the H&S Committee to identify areas of improvements.
Administer facilities rental and new business development.
Prepare and manage the school facilities budget.
Report to BGM
Direct line managed: Facilities Officer, Maintenance Technician, Caretaker, Janitors, Receptionist, Office Assistant.
Indirect line managed: Administrators, School Nurse, Life Guards.
Abilities
Fluency in oral, written English and Chinese (Cantonese).
Attentive to details and follow-up works.
Excellent staff management and project co-ordination skills.
Knowledge
Knowledge of HKSAR Buildings, Health & Safety Ordinances, Codes, and Standards.
Understanding of school operations/functions/systems is an advantage
