Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC) invites applications for the role of Duty Manager – Venue Operations (Maternity Cover). You will oversee front-of-house operations during performances, serving as the primary contact for hirer queries or complaints and ensuring the venue meets safety and cleanliness standards.
You will supervise ushers, coordinate with the team on inquiries and feedback, monitor crowd safety, and prepare monthly analysis reports.
Perform the role of Duty Manager to oversee front-of-house operations during performances. Act as the main points of contact for any hirer queries or complaints during the show. Ensure the venue is clean, tidy and ready to welcome audiences and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
Supervise ushers to handle ad hoc issues and elevate any unresolved issues or incidents to supervisor promptly
Coordinate with team members to handle inquiries, feedback and customer complaints professionally
Oversee crowd safety, enforce house rules, and respond to facility or medical emergencies timely
Collect and keep venue usage, revenue and visitors’ traffic records for reports preparation
Prepare monthly analysis reports for management’s review
Provide administrative supports to the team including assisting the process of venue booking applications, revising operational manuals, preparing ushers’ duty rosters, and generating invoices
Contract duration: mid-November 2026 to mid-March 2027.
Job requirements:
Diploma or above in hospitality, event management, or a related discipline
Hands-on experience in front-of-house operations is a must
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in sizable performing arts venues is an added advantage
Able to work irregular hours, including shift on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays as required
Customer-oriented and results-driven, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently with excellent problem-solving skills
Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
