InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited is recruiting a Contract Technical Analyst to assist in upgrading Windows OS, implementing EDR, and coordinating IT security projects for a government department. The role covers planning, testing, documentation, vendor assessments, and post-deployment support.
The position involves working on-site at Hong Kong offices with collaboration across PMs, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely completion and compliance with IT security requirements.
The CSA will assist on the upgrade of Windows Operating Systems and implementation of the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution for the government department. The role will provide technical analysis, implementation support, coordination, testing, documentation, and post-deployment assistance to enhance cybersecurity, ensure compliance with IT security requirements, and maintain operational continuity.
Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Department;
Windows Operating System Upgrade:
To support the planning, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and post-migration verification of Windows 11 for users, including the preparation of deployment records and technical documentation;
To conduct an inventory and assessment of existing computer hardware, software, operating systems, applications, and security configurations for approximately 400 staff stationed at Tamar and remote office(s);
To assist in preparing and maintaining technical implementation plans, deployment schedules, test plans, migration procedures, rollback arrangements, and related project documentation.
EDR Implementation:
To assist in evaluating technical specifications, preparing technical requirements, conducting product or solution comparisons, and supporting procurement and vendor assessment for the EDR implementation in accordance with established government guidelines and procedures;
To assist in analysing technical requirements, assessing hardware, software, applications, network connectivity, and endpoint readiness for the EDR implementation;
To assist in the configuration, pilot implementation, user acceptance testing, phased deployment, monitoring, and compliance checking of EDR solutions for desktop computers, mobile devices, and servers;
To coordinate with the Project Manager, internal users, vendors, and service providers on the deployment of EDR solutions for desktop computers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment with target completion within 2027;
To troubleshoot EDR installation and connectivity issues, endpoint security alerts, policy or configuration problems, and other related technical issues;
To support on post-implementation support, including application compatibility and system performance checks;
To identify and follow up on technical risks, issues, dependencies, and operational impacts, and to provide technical advice, progress updates, and recommendations;
To monitor EDR deployment status, endpoint health, security alerts, policy compliance, installation failures, and remediation progress.
General Responsibilities:
To draft and maintain system documentation and work plans;
To assist in IT equipment setup, administration, and ongoing maintenance for the department office;
To communicate IT matters with stakeholders across divisions as needed;
To provide general PC support and IT helpdesk assistance;
To perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Experience in working on operating system upgrade projects and/or IT security solution implementation (e.g. EDR) is highly desirable.
Experience in office IT setup, LAN/network implementation, mobile devices, and enterprise desktop and server environment management.
Administration experience of Windows Server and Windows 10 client; migration experience to Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 or later preferred.
Hands-on experience in hardware/software procurement of computer equipment.
Hands-on experience in IT helpdesk support.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Technical Skills:
At least 4 years' experience in PC LAN Support (PLS);
At least 4 years' experience in Windows 7/8/10 (W10);
At least 4 years' experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12);
At least 2 years' experience in Anti-Virus Technology (AVT);
At least 2 years' experience in Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS);
4 years' experience in Infrastructure (INF) is an advantage;
4 years' experience in IT Security (ITS) is an advantage;
4 years' experience in Network & System Management (NSM) is an advantage;
4 years' experience in Technical Architectural Support (TAS) is an advantage;
2 years' experience in Wireless and Mobile (WLM) is an advantage.
Non-technical Skills:
Good coordination skills is a must;
At least 4 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
3 years' experience in Government procurement/disposal procedures (GPD) is an advantage;
3 years' experience in helpdesk call handling (HDT) is an advantage;
3 years' experience in IT service/outsourcing management (OUT) is an advantage;
3 years' experience in IT procurement (PRO) is an advantage.
Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
At least 10 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 4 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
