Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited seeks an IT professional to provide technical support for system infrastructure in the implementation and enhancement of library systems including NGILS and SLS; provide project management, technical evaluation and implementation services.

Duties include planning, evaluation and acceptance for new and upgrade projects; production support for Linux and Windows servers; liaising with users and vendors; preparing technical specifications; troubleshooting; IT

Qualifications

• Experience in IT projects with planning, evaluation and acceptance.
• Strong in Linux, Windows server environments and AD administration.
• Solid knowledge of MySQL, Oracle RDBMS and SAN technologies.
• Familiar with IT security practices and government project support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for system infrastructure in library systems.
• Plan, evaluate and accept new and upgrade projects.

Job description

Provide technical support for system infrastructure in the implementation and enhancement of library systems including Next Generation Integrated Library System (NGILS) and Smart Library System (SLS);

Provide project management, technical evaluation and implementation services.

Duties:

Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the department;

Participate in planning, evaluation, management and acceptance for the implementation of new and upgrade projects;

Provide production support for Linux and Microsoft Windows server platforms;

Provide production support for system monitoring tools and password management software;

Liaise with users and vendors for requirement studies, implementation, and support activities;

Prepare technical specifications and evaluations for new or upgrade projects;

Perform technical troubleshooting;

Participate in IT security assessments and audit exercises;

Provide on-call technical support and perform other duties as required;

Work irregular hours if necessary.

Requirement:

At least 3 years of working experience in project management on IT projects;

At least 3 years of working experience in server virtualization technology;

At least 3 years of working experience in MySQL Server;

At least 3 years of working experience in Linux system administration;

At least 3 years of working experience in Microsoft Active Directory;

At least 1 year of working experience in system implementation and maintenance support is preferred;

At least 1 year of working experience in IT security is preferred;

At least 1 year of working experience in Microsoft Windows server is preferred;

At least 1 year of working experience in Oracle Database is preferred;

At least 1 year of working experience in Storage Area Network technology is preferred;

At least 1 year of working experience in management and support of government projects, systems and services is preferred;

Solid working experience in PRTG network monitoring tool is preferred;

Solid working experience in ManageEngine products (including Endpoint Management Desktop Central, OpManager, Eventlog Analyzer and PAM360) is preferred;

Strong, independent analytical and problem-solving skills;

Proficient in both spoken and written English and Cantonese, with fluency in Putonghua preferred.

Technical Skills:

At least 3 years' experience in Linux System Administration;

At least 3 years' experience in MySQL;

At least 3 years' experience in Microsoft Active Directory Administration;

At least 3 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology;

1 year's experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 is an advantage;

1 year's experience in IT Security is an advantage;

1 year's experience in Oracle RDBMS is an advantage;

1 year's experience in Storage Area Network is an advantage;

1 year's experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills:

At least 3 years' experience in project management;

1 year's experience in the management and support of Government systems and services is an advantage;

1 year's experience in managing Government projects is an advantage;

Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;

At least 6 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
