Charity Retail eBay Volunteer

Sue Ryder
West Midlands
GBP 10,000 - 40,000
Job description

Charity Retail eBay Volunteer

Be there when it matters as a Sue Ryder Volunteer.

As a Retail eBay Volunteer in one of our Sue Ryder charity shops, you will identify and research a range of products that have been donated ready to be listed on the Sue Ryder eBay page to maximise revenue.

This role requires a keen eye for items that can make more online than in the shop. In this role, you will be one of the store’s friendly faces who will help us to provide the best customer experience whilst playing an important role in raising funds for our charity work.

The Role:

  1. Researching and valuing items
  2. Photographing items to sell
  3. Preparing items for dispatch to the eBay hub
  4. Sorting, labelling, and pricing of stock
  5. Writing descriptions for item listings
  6. Greeting and helping customers
  7. Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented

About you:
  1. Enjoy helping and engaging with customers
  2. Competent with IT and a good level of literacy
  3. Ability to work as part of a team
  4. Reliable
  5. Have similar experience using eBay or equivalent eCommerce platforms

Working as a volunteer at one of our Sue Ryder shops is not only a rewarding way to learn new and transferable skills but also a fantastic chance to make new friends and become part of your local community. Plus, you will receive a volunteer discount on donated goods.

We are happy to discuss arranging one of our friendly taster sessions so that you may meet the team and see the shop.

Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18.

About Sue Ryder:
Sue Ryder is one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold in our shops generates funding so we can continue to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical, bereavement, and emotional support every year, in our hospices, in people's homes, and in the community. We are here to make sure that everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need.

We actively encourage applications from people from all backgrounds to help us provide the best possible experience for the people who use our services and continue to make Sue Ryder a great place to work, and attract and recruit the best, most diverse volunteer workforce possible. We are particularly interested in increasing applications from the global majority, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities as they are currently underrepresented in our organisation.
