Your Gastroenterology exposure and experience will help enable a seamless transfer for Gastro-Surgery patients transitioning from PN to oral diet.

You will undertake Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinics, providing dietetic input and management to a range of conditions in the medical arena, e.g. stoma and inflammatory bowel disease patients, IBS. This role will require you to be responsible for leadership and progression of a defined area of Medical Gastroenterology, currently Coeliac Services.

Main duties of the job

To act as part of the Dietetic Team and in conjunction with the Renal, Gastro, Hepatology Team to provide very highly specialist dietetic services to the Type 1 Intestinal Rehabilitation [60%] (IF / IR) service in the capacity of parenteral nutrition provision [40%], and Gastroenterology (medical and/or Surgical Gastroenterology) Inpatients and Outpatients at Addenbrooke's and other external Units / agencies as appropriate. This role also has a clinical remit to training and developing other professionals within the MDT undertaking Type 1 IR rounds (Research Fellows, Pharmacists and Specialist Nutrition Nurses).

To undertake Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinics, providing highly specialised dietetic input and management to a range of conditions in both the medical and surgical area and provide cover for other colleagues in the field of Gastroenterology.

To provide regional and, where required, National point of reference for Dietitians and other healthcare professionals in the Dietetic management of Type 1 IR and Coeliac Disease.

To work within a multi-professional framework and contribute to a first class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.
