A leading mental health service provider is seeking a Band 4 Technical Instructor to deliver therapeutic interventions for clients transitioning from secure care to the community. The FIRST community Occupational Therapy team are looking for a Band 4 Technical Instructor, a fantastic career development opportunity.
The post holder will deliver therapeutic interventions prescribed by the Occupational Therapists that facilitate successful transition to the community from secure care settings.
You will work multi professionally across all FIRST services, Women’s, and Men’s medium secure services, St Andrews Hospital Birmingham, probation services and the low secure service.
We are looking for people who really understand the challenges of moving from secure care to the community and can evidence recovery focussed practices. Experience of working with people with challenging behaviours and mental health conditions is essential and desirable to have some understanding of autism. Adherence to clinical and procedural risk management processes are essential for staff, service user and public protection. You will need to demonstrate a range of engagement strategies and adaptive communication styles.
You will need to appreciate the value of Occupational Therapy and its role in the service. We encourage innovation and creativity in meeting the needs of our service users.
