This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and culturally experienced Personal Assistant to provide confidential executive support to the recently appointed EMEA President of Houghton, a world leader in industrial fluids and fluid management and one of the world’s largest and longest established suppliers of industrial metalworking fluids and fluid management services. With over a century of expertise in manufacturing engineering and a strong range of solution-based, market-leading products, the company is actively seeking to further develop their market position and reputation in partnership with the world’s largest manufacturing companies. The business has undergone considerable change in recent years presenting the opportunity to deliver significant success through the support of the strong leadership team and the development of additional networks across the UK and Europe.

Reporting to the EMEA President at the European Head Office, the appointee will lead and manage a wide range of senior level organisational and general support duties of a highly responsible and confidential nature, and for the right candidate, the position will carry responsibility for several speciality functions on a project basis. The role will require exceptional integrity, tact and humour to facilitate the great frequency of senior level interactions and be responsible for the management of clear and consistent communications across the group. Whilst the individual’s work will require considerable independence, the successful applicant will be strongly analytical, detail-minded and fully understand the importance of placing customers at the centre of the organisation. An effective team player, the appointee will be a brand ambassador, have a desire to develop strong relationships both internally and externally and be excited by the opportunity to influence the centre of a growing business.

Candidates, ideally qualified to degree level with strong language skills, will be self-starters who can demonstrate drive, tenacity and strong project leadership coupled with exceptional integrity alongside exemplary communication & presentation skills. Fluency in German and other European languages will be advantageous, along with strong competency in listening and negotiation and the ability to effect and manage positive change.
