Are you ready to lead a busy, exciting and dedicated Planning Enforcement team in a major city that is dynamic and fast paced?

Following a review of our Planning Enforcement function, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Planning Enforcement manager to take a new role within our busy and progressive planning enforcement team within the wider Planning group.

• Lead and oversee the operational planning, prioritisation and progression of reports of breaches of planning control
• Continually strive for improvement and innovate to bring efficient ways of getting effective results that provide robust credibility to the planning service
• Provide oversight and support to the Planning enforcement team to ensure swift, efficient and effective enforcement decisions are made
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to all stakeholders, the public, members and senior management
• Lead on technical enforcement matters in appeals, public enquiries, development control committees and other key meetings
• Oversee caseloads, development of staff and nurture new talent
• Collaborate with peers within the wider planning service and ensure seamless overlap and support planning decisions and policy

• Proven strong leadership experience in a planning department with a great track record of dealing with complex planning enforcement cases
• Strong understanding of planning enforcement and allied legislation
• Excellent ability to provide leadership and support to team members
• Ability to work strategically while managing complex operational demands
• A commitment to continuous service improvement.
